For Leslie

#52
I went to the ice show tonight to support my fellow seniors in what is their last show, or last run of an ice show. And it was amazing. I have never seen any of them so happy while skating. They always had smiles on their faces whether they were skating a solo number, skating with a team or leading the little kids in a program they were just beaming. It was fun to watch. Earlier this year they lost a team member to leukemia (I think it was leukemia) and I think that is one of the reasons all the skating has gone so well for them, she is looking out for the team from wherever she is now. Anyway, while this picture may not be the most impressive from the night I thought it was the most fitting. This is the Windjammer team in their final pose of their number. They all have embroidered sunflowers on their dresses in honor of Leslie. (though I don't think you can see that in this picture.) Either way, I took about 500 pictures tonight (and it took about 2 hours to load them on my computer... why it was so slow? I will find that out.) and this ended up being one of my favorite shots.

Congrats skaters.

Rainy Days

#51
The only thing missing from the rain today was thunder and lightning. Granted the day isn't over yet... but I really want a storm. Anyway, I didn't have a picture yet so I threw on my rain boots and headed outside. My dad just got a new camera and I was gonna use that, but he wasn't so sure about getting it wet. (I will for sure be trying out that camera this weekend though. It looks like it has potential). I had some fun using the self timer. I haven't used that in a while. I love rain. And rain boots.

Photo?

#50
We are working on a hand coloring project in photo right now, so I spent yesterdays photo class, todays photo class and my open hour today painting a black and white photo with watercolors. I realized within these past 2 days that one, I can't paint with watercolors to save my life and two, the photo I picked was NOT the right choice. So I found a better picture today that I will print tomorrow and start coloring on Thursday. (And I will probably still be ahead of some of the people in my class). I also started working/plotting my final today. I'm kind of excited for it. I love photo. (Hence this blog). =]

A little too late

#49
I was driving home from work tonight and the moon rise looked awesome. A crescent moon under a fading blue sky. It was so cool. Sadly I didn't have my camera with me (stupid) so I rushed home grabbed my camera and ran out the door. This is what I got. I'm not all that impressed with it. Its blurry and I missed the sweetness of the sky. Also this is another one of my "I need a better camera" shots. I needed a longer exposure and I can't adjust that on a point and shoot, but oh well. I do what I can.

Backstage Fun

#48
This show isn't all that complicated for stage left (my side of the stage). We have about 6 shifts that consist of a bench going on and off stage and about 3 shifts that consist of a motorcycle being pushed down a ramp onto the stage. And all of these shifts take place during the first act... other than that we don't have a whole lot going on. So we started coloring on tape with a black sharpie. Of course we only had one sharpie so we had to take turns. Then I decided to be smart and brought in paper and colored pencils. 75 in total. It keeps us entertained. (Sometimes I feel like I'm 5 because I need crayons and colors to keep me occupied. But I kinda love it). =]

p.s. we are extending the show for another weekend. So feel free to grab tickets. Or to come again. =]

Karaoke

#47
After the show today we celebrated a friends birthday by throwing a surprise party. I want to say it ended up being successful. From what I could tell she was quite surprised. =] yay us! Anyway, during the party we started playing Disney Karaoke on the Wii. This is a picture of some friends singing (gosh, what were they singing... OH YEAH) Breaking Free from High School Musical. It was quite humorous (and not all that bad). Hopefully everyone that sang will be able to sing for the show tomorrow... fingers crossed their voices won't give out.

School lunch

#46
This makes up for yesterday... I have yet to take a picture today.
School lunches are always a bit questionable. Well let me just say the nacho cheese is probably the most questionable thing served. Sure, it doesn't taste so bad. But it doesn't move. You could hold the container it comes in upside down and the cheese would never drip out. Its kinda gross.

p.s. Show update: Opening was awesome. Get tickets. Come see it. =]
