As CS and I were getting ready to go to Lund tonight, HK started running around doing acrobatic tricks. I didn't have a camera, so I had to use my phone. Someday I'll get a more exciting picture up. Promise. Especially since I have 45 days left. WEIRD. p.s. I also feel weird not having a partner on this project anymore (ahem... PH...) so I'm alone for the home stretch. Lame. But awesome that I'm gonna make it.

Good news is they liked my poster. YAY! The bad news... I had to spend an extra 6 hours working on it cause Amy (the director) didn't like my original color scheme. So here are all the posters I made. They are all different in some way. There are 13 of them. And these are only the printed ones. I have more on the computer. My eyes started to bleed (not really... but they wanted to).

Here is where I post up during class. My poster design is on the computer. You can kind of see it. I'm happy with it. WINDIEST DAY EVER. Seriously. I have never experienced such wind. We (Gustavus) was even featured on fox 9 news because of it. Crazy!

We had a chill night doing crafts. CS made valentines, I worked on my posters for class, and AP did her knitting (she is making mittens. They are epic). I'm exhausted. And I still have wings on my back from last night... fricken costume

Vancouver 2010: GAC style

I found myself at a theatre party Friday evening. It was an olympic themed party. I suggested to some people to go as a quidditch team and thats what we did. I was a golden snitch. It was actually quite epic. Other costumes: Russian rowing team, Apollo Anton Ohno, Shawn Johnson, a ping-pong table, figure skater, you get the idea. Anyway, these five people showed up as the Olympic rings. They are dancing in this picture (as you can see), but they posed as the rings earlier. I just liked this picture more. I love theatre. Thats all.

So, in order to work on my poster I had to take some pictures of a few people in the show. Voici RB. Il est Bobby Strong dans (en?) la piece Urinetown. Excuse my french. Anyway, I've been editing the poster for about 3 hours now. Yes, my eyes have started to bleed. In this picture, I edited out a broom he was holding. Yay for photoshop magic. Ha. Time for sleep... now that its 1am.

In class today we had 4 projects assigned to us. Sketches due Friday. I'm trying to not freak out. I have some ideas though so.. I should be good. Yay! Anyway, we were advised to watch rehearsal for Urinetown to get better ideas for the poster. So thats what I did. They did a push-through of act 2 and I almost died I was laughing so hard. Get your tickets. Its gonna be a great show.

Graphic Design class. WOO. I love it. I spent about 5 hours on this today. For fun... it won't be used for anything. But I had fun doing it. And I plan on finishing it too. (As in putting in dates and times of when Dance in the Arb is..)

Spent the day watching Princess Bride with AA. (Funny I have a friend AA and a friend BB. I'm waiting for a CC...). It was really fun. Then I colored for a while. Then the section went to Where the Wild Things Are. It was ok. I don't know if I would see it again though.

I went to BE's house tonight. We watched (500) Days of Summer and just hung out. It was really fun. We are an odd bunch.

Lunch today was epic. CS and HK decided to make a tower. By the end of the whole ordeal we had the attention of the entire caf and a few people even whipped out digital cameras to take a picture of it. The thing was HUGE. I also got my grade back on my first j-term project today. 20/20. Yay me!

Roomie surprised me today by telling me we got a fish. I would have posted a picture of the fish (which is nameless as far as I know) but by the time I got back to my room tonight she was already asleep so I couldn't turn the light on.

Yup, I went back to high school. Kinda. BB had a party. It was themed. High school stereotype. I went as a prep. So basically I felt like I was back at high school. Some of the costumes were sick though. I had a great time. Here is SF (as a gangster) with her friends A and M (they were visiting from her high school and both went as preps)

So much for that Pocahontas song. Another chill day. I donated some of my time, and my awesome sewing skill, to the theatre costume shop today. I was visiting some friends and Drea, the person in charge, told me if I wanted to stay I had to work. So I did. I replaced some elastic, attached some suspenders, and sewed on some name tags. I felt pretty cool. Went to Lund again. I'm getting back into my 3-day training mode. I can tell. I feel weird if I don't walk or run now, even if its only been 3 days. Its like I relapsed or something on some sort of drug. But its a healthy one! Watched a movie with some of the girls. MC was working on her watercolor project for class.

Knitting

We are all getting real intense about this work out thing here in 3C. HK and I got up and went to Lund (the fitness center) this morning. She skated, I walked and read (I'm reading Dear John. It's REALLY good). Went to class. Took a nap. Worked on some homework. Watched Fantastic 4 (I realized how bad of a movie that really was... I don't know why I liked it so much). Went to dinner. Then half our section went back to Lund where I ran, walked, rowed, ran, and walked some more. I still have to do my pilates before I get to bed. Yeah. I'm getting into shape this January. Its gonna happen. AP is in the knitting j-term and she has been working on her scarf for the past two days and is getting pretty good at it now. I got some new "actions" today for photoshop so I had fun playing with those.

O-R-E-D-U-M. Whats that spell? J-term. So. Having class from 10:30-12:30, lunch after, I got my homework done by about 2. And it was fun homework. After that I had NOTHING to do. No one does. I ran/walked for over an hour today. Started pilates. Watched a movie and a half. Its only the first day and we are complaining. Its gonna be a LONG January. But its a nice way to ease back in to what will be a hell of a spring semester. HK and I are getting up to exercise at 7:30 so I'm going to bed. January is officially "Gustavus get in shape" month.

Clever title huh. Yes, I am once again sitting in the comforts of my own dorm room. Its nice being back. I missed everyone and it was fun to catch up. After a day of cleaning and packing I got back to school around 4:30. Unpacked, got some food, and watched part of The Tutors with SF. As the night went on more and more people got back and we all just ended up talking. Classes start tomorrow. I have one class during j-term. Graphic design, Monday through Friday 10:30-12:20. Pretty easy, huh.

Or so says Kermit the Frog. I spent my last day basically cleaning and watching movies. Went to Avatar again this time with DN. Also went to Up in the Air with KR my "crazy aunt." I also finished watching Iron Man. Good times were had. I did a number on my room today too. I cleaned. And I mean cleaned. It still looks a tad messy but I got rid of about three bags of stuff. I'm quite pleased. I took a picture of a tree today when I got home. I head back to school tomorrow! Yay!

Two-thousand and ten.

Happy New Year! As a new years resolution, BB and myself (or more myself with the help of BB) have decided to be more legit this year and try to do one legit thing a day. Originally I was going to do the polar plunge (jump into lake Tonka this morning) but that didn't happen so then I planned on going to Avatar with DN, but it was sold out so we watched Pocahontas and I started to finish this project I started earlier over break. The goal is to fill the wall. So if you have any old magazines you don't want (hint, hint)... I finished off the night hanging out with SF. We watched the Little Mermaid and I am now watching Iron Man. Cause its awesome. Hope you all had a great New Years!
