Photo day gone right

#22
Originally, My friend and I had planned to use this day as picture day. We were planning on going outside and taking pictures all day of anything from a building to a tree. Then I woke up to rain and snow. So we cancelled those plans and decided to do hair wraps and make bracelets while watching (but not really watching) Young Frankenstein. Then we decided to take pictures anyway. She has a remote trigger for the shutter on her camera (so cool) so we took a few (84) pictures. We then went to Benjamin Button since neither of us had seen it (it was good. but sad) and when we walked out of the theatre it was snowing and it was so pretty. So we took more pictures. It was an awesome photo adventure day even after canceling the original photo day.

p.s. my original idea for todays picture was to dress up my friend as a celeb to get back at our friends in Puerto Rico who saw Johnny Depp today (check it out) but I like how these turned out better.

p.p.s. I'm jealous they got to see Johnny Depp....

TV addiction

#21
One of my friends came over tonight (I feel like I start a lot of my posts out with that sentence...). She came over around 1630h and left around 2350h, and the only time we left the couch was to eat dinner. Within our time of sitting on the couch we watched one episode of Gossip Girl (season 1), 3 episodes of Lost (season 2), Gossip Girl (tonight's episode), One Tree Hill (tonight's episode) then finished off the night with 3 more episodes of Lost. We had LOTS of food (pasta, salad, ice cream sandwich, creme puff, grapes, girl scout cookies). I guess you could say its a typical girl night... or a typical TV night.

The Big Yellow One

#20
For anyone who has listened to Brian Regan you would get the whole "the big yellow one is the sun" joke. If you haven't... you should. Anyway, I was walking around in my kitchen today and saw a lemon out on the cutting board. I thought "hmm... this could make a sweet picture" but it was dark in our kitchen so I started looking for a spot in the sun. Where better to find the sun than outside. One thing led to another and this picture was taken... I then followed that up with taking the picture for the title of my blog (it looks way better than just the plain title, don't you think?)

Peace out

Becoming Edward

#19
I spent my night with a friend and her family (and oh my goodness does she have a crazy family. fun times) In the course of this evening we ate very nutritious meal of ramen, went to Adeles for desert and to top all of that off, went back to her house and watched Twilight (since neither of us had seen it since the day it came out in theatres). I left the room after the movie, and when I came back in, my friend was sitting in front of the TV like the Dalmatian from 101 Dalmatians (the one that sits too close to the tv) and she just looked at me and said "BECOMING EDWARD." We then proceeded to watch just how Robert Pattinson became Edward. It was quite the evening.

Caramel Chex

#18
I hung out with a friend tonight that I hadn't hung out with in forever. Most of the times we do hang out we eat caramel chex, but usually our other friend makes it for us. Well said friend is in Italy right now so we were on our own this time (last time we were on our own.. the chex got stuck to wax paper and we had caramel wax paper chex... not so good). But we held our own this time and made some pretty good chex mix. And we ate it all. A whole box of rice chex. Covered in caramel. 13 cups of cereal...

I'm feeling a little guilty about that...
and a little sick too. =/

Rent! ...again

#17
Well.. since last night we missed some of the actors coming out of the stage door, we decided to go back just to see the actors. We didn't get to see Adam Pascal or Anthony Rapp, but we did meet some really cool people. (And its always fun to have an excuse to go downtown) So, this picture is of my two friends that I went with. It was about 24 degrees out. It was COLD. (The actors were in Tempe last week... so they really weren't used to this). So my picture for today kinda conveys the whole experience of waiting for the actors to come out of the stage door. (p.s. its spring break! YAY!)

How we gonna pay...

#16
RENT! (wow, looking at the clock, its 11:51, I barely made the post for today) I saw "The Broadway Tour" of Rent tonight with 3 of my friends (including the friend who is doing this project with me. And he almost has the same picture as me today) and it was AMAZING. Everyone in the cast had been in rent before (on broadway) and it starred two of the most amazing people ever. Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp. We then waited outside the stage door for about a half hour to meet these two people, but they never got to us... grr. And it was really cold out. NOT FUN. So, I think we are going back tomorrow night to see if we can get a picture with them. Cause we are just cool like that. =]

Peace

The day of a French oral

#15
Today in French we had an oral test. For this oral we had to talk to our teacher about one of 4 topics for 5 minutes (doesn't sound that hard... but really, it can be a challenge). Though, on oral days, once you do your oral you have no other assignments for the rest of the day (if you are lucky, that is). So my friend who sits behind me, she started drawing pictures on the phone of the person who sits next to her. And I thought what she was drawing was really cool, so I snapped a picture. Chances are my picture for tomorrow may also be from french class (its crepe day. =] )

A demain!

The Thinker

#14
Today at play practice we were blocking the song "Can't help falling in love" and people were choosing end poses. My friend in the picture decided this should be her end pose because it gave off the "being frustrated" look that a fellow actor in the show was supposed to be. I don't know how many caught this moment, but those of us that did fell off of our chairs laughing. I kinda love this show, but not as much as I love the girl in this picture.

Good times

Being bored

#13
My assignment today was to take a picture of being bored, or something to that extent. So, this picture (yes, the stars are back) is bored to me. I was at work today and it wasn't all that busy so I spent the better part of my day making these origami stars. In total, I made 54 stars worth saving. I probably threw away about 20 that just didn't like me. The picture doesn't really give off the feeling of boredom, but trust me when I say, this is boredom in picture form.

To kick-off spring

#12
Since yesterday was the first day of spring, and since today had AWESOME weather (60 degrees and sunny) I decided to engage in one of my favorite spring/summer activities. Cleaning and washing the car. I don't think it had been washed since the deer incident in late December. So it was nice to get all the salt off of it. I spent about a total of 3 hours washing the body, the windows, the wheels, vacuuming the interior and cleaning the leather. Overall, I'm happy with having a shiny car again. =]

Yay spring!

A Failed Attempt

#11
(Sorry, I know this is being posted on Saturday, but technically I haven't gone to bed yet, so its still Friday for me) There was a acoustic coffeehouse up at the school tonight, so my friend and I (along with about 5 other people) decided to take some pictures for it. After getting home and looking through my pictures, none of them really worked out all that well. And those that did work I didn't love. So, earlier in the day (right after school got out) I was walking--in the rain--with some friends and i saw this "OH!" painted on the wall of our school. In honor of the band 3OH!3, I decided to take this picture. I liked it. Hopefully I will have something more exciting tomorrow.

The beginning of the end

#10
I have one wall in my room that is dedicated to a mirror, lots of pictures, and all of my high school show posters. Well I hung my last poster tonight and the wall is now full. Its kinda like the beginning of the end in a way. I will no longer be documenting my high school years through posters on that wall but they will always be there to serve as a way to remember what my high school years were like. (lots and lots of good times). It is fun to look at my wall and see it full. Overall, this picture isn't amazing (stupid light reflection, and the lighting is not exactly prime in my room for picture taking). It was me being bored in my room after I finished hanging it. But I figured it was something to document.

Killing Time

#9
One of my friends was testing out his potential new (old) VW GTI today and a few of us went with to look at it, ride in it, listen to it (the thing is LOUD, but so awesome). It's a sweet car. '97 VR6. Anyway, while his neighbor was looking it over we had fun taking picture to kill the time. This would be one of them. Some call it "kissing through cameras." I'm not quite sure what I would call it. But we all had a good time.

The Bou

#8
Happy St. Patrick's day! I went to Caribou tonight to have coffee with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. We had a lot to catch up on. Anyway, while I was there, someone I haven't seen in 2 years walked in (there is a good reason for why I haven't seen him in that long). And man, it was weird. I can't really express how I felt about it all, but I didn't really think I would ever see him again then BAM there he was. But thats life I guess, huh.

Till tomorrow

Le Petit Prince

#7
I know this picture isn't much but the back story on it is this: In french today, one of my friends was making these stars for my other friend that sits behind me. So when I turned around to ask her a question this is what her desk looked like. Last year in french we read The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) and that is what I thought of. I loved that book, its probably one of my favorites so seeing this on her desk brought back some memories. The reason why this one got posted today is basically because I left my camera at home all day, so yes, this was taken with my phone. But what can you do. Pictures aren't supposed to be perfect every day, right?

Time

#6
My assignment for today (from "jardinle") was to take a picture of time. I had no idea how to take a picture of time. Yeah, a clock, but thats lame. So then while on my walk today I got to thinking about what time really is and I realized that time is a matter of perspective and opinion. Time to one person could be completely different then the next person. For me, this is time. I have spent more hours and walked, run, and biked more miles on this trail then people could even begin to imagine. Its seen me in good times and in bad. It even witnessed a first date. So maybe to you this isn't time. But to me, it makes the cut.

Solitude

#5
Our assignment in english this weekend was to be like Henry David Thoreau and experience solitude. So I walked about 5 miles, picked up my friends camera on the way and spent my "solitude" time taking pictures. I took a good amount of pictures, but I liked this one a lot. I thought it kinda looked like "solitude" so that is why I picked it for today.

Rehearsal

#4
My picture today is from our rehearsal of our spring musical, All Shook Up. Its a musical featuring all Elvis music and it may be the most cheesy and awesome thing ever. Anyway, I had my point and shoot with me today and I decided to snap a few pictures. They aren't perfect (this was one of the better ones) but I needed to put up something, so this is what made the cut for today.

'Till tomorrow

Mirror Image

#3
I helped out with an event at school tonight called "Off the page." We had some writers come in and they were interviewed by students. It was actually really cool (minus the issues we had with microphones... but thats another story). Anyway, after the show my friends and I had fun taking pictures around the Black Box (where the event was held). We discovered how fun it was to take pictures in the mirror and just try different things with a mirror image. This picture was probably the best composed. It was the sharpest and had the best contrast, the other ones were a bit blown out. So this is the one that made the cut!

The Dash

#2
So, on my way home from work tonight I realized that I still needed to take a picture. So on the drive home this is what I got. (Ok, so I was parked in my driveway, but same difference). Its nothing exciting or nothing too impressive, but I did like the colors. Almost as much as I love the car. 2008 Honda Civic (Hybrid). Funny enough, the person I am doing this project with also took a car picture tonight, and I swear, it wasn't planned at all. Weird how that works out, huh.

Having fun

#1
First picture! Woo! Scary to think that (hopefully) one year from now (March 10th, 2010) I will be uploading my last picture and I will almost be done with my first year of college. Eek... weird to think about. Anyway... Its kinda become a tradition to hang out in our arts center after a concert or show. There was a choir concert tonight and this picture is one of the many that were taken in the hour and a half that we spent just hanging out after the show was done. Though it may be blurry, its still one of my favorite pictures of the night. Its just friends having fun.

Let the games begin

I am about to embark--starting tomorrow--on what may just be the most insane photo project of my life. One of my friends decided we should take one picture (at least) a day for 365 days. Not thinking much of it, I agreed. Only now do I realize that 365 days is a long time. A lot can happen. Which is also why I am excited for this project. Instead of trying to remember everything that happened I now get the chance to document it in a new (and more memorable) way. So, let the games begin.

Peace
