Dorm shopping.

Yesterday in all my shopping escapades I got bedding for my dorm room. Let me tell you, shopping for bedding isn't as easy as one would hope. Anyway, this is what I got. It's navy blue sheets/duvet. Then I got a "decorative tapestry" that I want to sew onto the duvet. I'm not sure if I like the idea or not yet... so I'm gonna see if I can find a better option. But we'll see. At least I have something to cover my bed now. =]

p.s. kinda boring, sorry. I didn't take a picture yet today and I probably won't take one later today. Its been a chill day. Hung with SB this morning, lunch with SK, work then hangin' with the PIC tonight. Peace out all.

All American Girl

Good song is it not. (All American Girl - Train). Anyway, I did some shopping with LT, LW, KN, and CP today. It was a good time. KN and I broke off from the group and went to the American Girl Store just cause I've never been to one ever and she hadn't been to the one in MOA yet. It's amazing. I wish we had one when I was younger. I would have loved it. Here is K at the store with her new dorm pj's. They are the girl sized Kirstin PJ's. They are kinda awesome.

A tough day

Thats just what its been. I can't even begin to describe what the day was like. Tough. Thats what it was. And for once, the weather fit. It rained my whole way home tonight. It was perfect. Its the only picture I took today.

This Is Twins Territory

Don't mess with the Twins. I started my day off going to the beach with JW. I got a little pink but it was totally worth it. I had a blast, and it was a perfect day. No clouds, slight breeze. Just awesome. I then went to tonights Twins game with CP, LW, and LT. C's dad got the tickets free. We were sitting 20 rows up behind home plate. PERFECT seats. It was a decently boring game till about the 6th inning when both teams got a run. Then we got 4 runs in the 7th inning. Then they got 2 more runs top of the 9th. It was an intense last inning. Here is a picture of Baker pitching early in the game.

Today I went to Ikea with JW and we had a blast. I love that store. Then we went back to her house to assemble her new coffee table for her room. Its sweet. And it fits perfectly. Then I left to go to work where J came to visit me and talk about maybe selling her jewelry there. Then I came home to my new lens. EFS 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM. I love it. Its WIDE. Which is nice since none of my PICs lenses are that wide. So SK came over and we had some fun light writing. This is S with her new boyfriend. His name is Kyle. They have been dating for all of 10 minutes now. They met tonight. And they are in loooveee. =]

Foto Fail

Well, here's my story for the day. My PIC came home from his weekend adventures and we decided to go out and take some pictures with his new strobes/umbrella/stand etc. So we went to a parking lot in Excel and took some there. Then decided we wanted a new location so we went to Freeman park. After taking maybe 10 pictures we just decided we weren't in the mood to take pictures so we ended up just catching up about the weekend and stuff. So I didn't take a single picture tonight until I got home. I tried taking one of the stars but that just didn't work. So I took one of the neighbors flag. Exciting, I know.

Wow. Lots of sun.... anyway... DN got a camera today!! She has wanted a new one for a while, but her old one broke on her mission trip so she had an excuse to get a new one. I went with to help her decide and give my approval on it. More so I was just there for the adventure. But I got to go to National Camera so I'm perfectly fine. Its a nice camera. I like it a lot. Its more than a point and shoot but less than a SLR. Its a good one. We then went to her house and watched Troy with SK, KS and AD. Good movie.

Matchy Matchy

Yesterday I went to pick up SK so we could go out to dinner. And while she was walking to the car I realized she was wearing the EXACT (almost) same thing as me. Only SHE refused to change. So we were just matchy matchy all day. We ordered the same dinner and said the same things... it was weird. The only thing that was different was our hair and I had white shorts while she had blue. We had fun though. We made rice crispy bars and watched Casanova and Mamma Mia. And sang songs the whole way home. Good times. Todays post is coming once I take a picture. =]

Big Island

I went to a party out on Big Island yesterday and I had a ton of fun. We played some soccer then had a game of badminton (JA and SK are featured in this picture). There were a TON of people there. I was originally going to post a picture of SB and I but none of them were worthy enough to post. But here is our story of the evening. So we went out kayaking because we wanted to go swimming. But once we were out we decided it would be hard to get back in the kayaks so we just splashed each other with the oars. While S was trying to splash me she ended up tipping over so I went over to help her get back in and she just flipped my kayak over. We then spent a good probably 7 minutes or so trying to get back in the kayaks. It was a good time. And someone was running around with my camera last night cause when I uploaded my pictures I had a whole bunch of pictures that I didn't take...

p.s. sorry this is late. I didn't get home till 1 last night from the island and I was exhausted when I got home so I just went to bed.

Skunk Hill

So, the kids I nanny brought me to a place called skunk hill today. (Why its called skunk hill, I have no idea). Its this huge hill in the middle of a forest/park thing. It was actually pretty cool (once you got past all the mosquitos). So I brought my camera along and shot a few pictures. Here is E, picking flowers for her mom. Not sure if I can use this place to my advantage or not yet, but we'll see.

ras-pa-berries

I'm posting early today! (Its only 3:30). Well I went to the doctor this morning, rushed home to nanny and got done nannying around 1:30. Then I came home and had nothing to do but wait to go to work at the store... so I ran around outside and snapped a few pictures since I figured I wouldn't be taking one tonight. One of my favorite parts of summer is raspberries. They are SO good. (and thanks to my spellcheck, I just learned now that raspberry is spelled with a 'p'... who knew). Then I was still bored and decided to edit it. Not 100% sure what I think of it. But its not as dull as the original. So... what can ya do.

Today was just kind of an "eh" day. I was at work all day and it was a super slow day (we did have birds inside today though. Not exactly sure how they got in. It was funny to hear them chirping the whole time I was there). Then I came home, ate dinner and watched some old episodes of Gossip Girl while decorating a luminary for Relay for Life which is this Friday. Maybe you will get a more exciting picture tomorrow.

LEGEN -wait for it

What a day. I worked what may have been the slowest shift ever. (We started making bracelets out of gift wrap ribbon...). Then on my way home I got a message from JF telling me to get to his house to go out on the boat. So I did. The usual group was out. 2 girls. about 6 guys. Usually how the boat works... but its still awesomely fun. I was once again designated photog (as always) and AH (who is trying to get sponsored) decided to attempt a hand stand on the wake surf board. INTENSE. My picture today is his third attempt. He didn't get it completely. But after this was taken he threw his legs up and had it for a millisecond before falling over. My guess is he gets it within the next one or two trips out on the lake. T'was a good day.

A new way of driving

So I drove with SK to Blockbuster today, only we invented a new form of driving. I worked the pedals while S, sitting in the passenger seat, controlled the wheel. It wasn't all that hard actually, until we got to making turns. That was a little more challenging. It was hard to know how to control the speed when you weren't also controlling the wheel. But we had a good time. (And parents... don't worry. My hands were on the wheel the whole time, I just wasn't doing anything). So here is a picture of S after her pro park job. We rented Knowing. Weirdest movie ever. Incase you were wondering.

Painting... kinda.

I hung out with JW, DN and my PIC tonight after a day of work and grad thank yous (yes, they are coming!) We decided to go light painting (or writing... whatever you prefer). And this was one of the several shots we took. Though 4 may be too many people. Fun as it was. We then watched part of Braveheart. GREAT movie.

Adventure day

Today was an adventure. I got up, made crepes, watched Return of the King (Lord of the Rings...), then drove to Gustavus with JA and HR (we turned around once we saw the school from the road cause J had to get back for a voice lesson). I then came home, finished Return of the King with my PIC. We then went to his house for dinner, drove over to Dolly tech, and came back to my house and met up with DN and JW and went back to the epic field to take pictures. It was lots of fun. My PIC then left for another party and J, D, and I watched Grey's and Private Practice. It was insanely busy. And I had a lot of pictures to choose from, but I liked the look of this one so its the one I picked for the day.

A change in the weather

Sorry I didn't get a post up yesterday... I didn't get a picture till late then I went to the midnight show of Harry Potter and got home and went straight to bed since I had to work at 9:30 this morning (I'm exhausted... incase you were wondering). So here is today, and yesterday.

The weather today was AMAZING. After work I went with my PIC to NatCam, then to the Audi dealership, and finally to pick up his sister. Then I went and hung out with SK and walking home I remembered my awesome photo site find. So I got home and started asking people if they wanted to photo adventure. Luckily LW said she could. So we walked over and took some pictures. The grass was as tall as we are and it was BUGGY. But it was fun. (stupid lens flare...)

I went to the tech rehearsal of Hello Dolly last night and on the way back to drop off my PIC we saw how EPIC the clouds were. They were strange. I don't have the energy to write about them but if you look at his blog from yesterday they are all explained there. It was sweet though. I love crazy weird weather.

Moondance Jam

While up at the cabin this past weekend, we listened to "The Power Loon." Which is a radio station up north. Its epic. My PIC kinda fell in love with it. In fact, I'm pretty sure thats the only reason he really wants to go back... But during almost every commercial break they advertised Moondance Jam using this song. I didn't know the name of the song, or the artist, until today. So once I heard it I took a picture of the title/artist so I could remember to download it later today (which I did). Kinda bummed I'm not at Moondance this week... but I suppose I'll live...

epic cabin weekend

As I said before, I went up to the cabin with DN, HR, and my PIC this weekend and we had an EPIC time. So here is the recap.

Tubing got pretty intense. We went from just tubing, to figuring out how to get some serious air, to jumping over each others tubes, to attempting barrel rolls. It was crazy. So here is H, mid attempt at a barrel roll. (He didn't land it.)

Explosives. Give my PIC any form of an explosive and he will turn into a kid at christmas. We had a night of fireworks at a bonfire we had the first night we were there, which then carried into the second and third day/night. (my ears may still be ringing... I'm not sure). Anyway here is my PIC launching one of his contraptions he built.

Each year, my brother and MC build a crazy sandcastle. Like, take up half the beach, sand city/castle/fortress/thing. They get insane. This year H decided he wanted to help. But I'm pretty sure what he made was covered up by what they were building...

Today my dad and I went to the Titanic Exhibit at the science museum. I was planning on having a sweet picture of the part of the ship they have in the exhibit, but cameras weren't allowed. I went to the exhibit when it was here about 10 years ago and I thought that was WAY cooler, but this one was still fun to see. I love stuff about the Titanic.

Day of birth. 18 years later. Yesterday I went on an 11 mile walk. Hung out with SK. The fam (plus SK) went to Olive Garden for dinner, then we came back home and I had a group of people over for a bonfire. It was a decently fun day.

Now I must get back to packing. I'm off to my cabin for the weekend with DN, HR, and my PIC. I shall post the weekend pictures come Sunday or Monday.

Movie night!

I had the most amazing night ever. Since I didn't go out on the boat with my PIC (jerk) (but not really) I called (or texted) SK and we decided to go to Star Trek. It was a GREAT movie. I cried I was laughing so hard. S can vouch for me. Then we had quite an epic drive home (which involved a lot of yelling for fun) and went to Adeles for ice cream followed by a walk around Excelsior. And I am hanging out with S all day tomorrow too. SO. PUMPED. Anyway, before the movie we saw a preview for the GI Joe movie, which looks intense, and stars Channing Tatum. (yum...) So this is the one any only picture I took today. =]

Sorry, Kind of a bad picture. I'm too lazy to go find my other camera. But here is my new (used) Canon 40D. (sans lens) Its awesome. I haven't used it much yet, just cause I haven't had time. I could have today but I had to much fun reading my new book. (The Time Travelers Wife... read it. Its amazing) Anyway, I'm off to bed. I gotta work early tomorrow. =/

NEW CAMERA!! It happened today. I couldn't be more thrilled. But its weird. My partner in crime has the same one so I feel like I should be bringing it back to him tomorrow, but I don't have to. Cause its mine. =] I may be borrowing his lenses though since I have yet to purchase one... But I'm working on that. Anyway. I hung out with my partner in crime and JW tonight. We swam at J's house then watched part of The Italian Job. After I brought my PIC (funny how partner in crime shortened is PIC and so is picture) home then I went back to J's and we went out light writing. Pretty sure I got her hooked.

Happy 4th!

Today was quite an epic day. I ended up going to JF's house for a huge party. We were out on the boat all day wake surfing (even when it started raining/storming). We then had a dinner of ribs and went back out on the boat for more wake surfing action. After that we came back in for dessert (cheesecake... mmm...) then went back out to catch the Excel and Chan fireworks from the lake. After we went back to the house and shot off our own fireworks. Todays picture is one of JG. He has the best falls when wake surfing. He doesn't just go down. He does some weird twist jump thing. We all laughed every time.

Mojo

I have been house sitting the "ark" for the past few days now. Said "ark" consists of 2 dogs and 2 cats. And they are all the sweetest pets ever. But their cat, Mojo, has thumbs. Legit thumbs. And he liked to sit on my computer. So here is a picture of him. You can kind of tell he has thumbs. Its kinda awesome.

The never ending adventure

Today started early. 3:40. AM. My partner in crime and I went to watch the sunrise and take some pictures. Sadly, it was cloudy, so we didn't get any good ones. But we explored Hollywood, MN. I never knew there was such a place. We then both crashed at my house until I had to get to work. At work we played our new game "hide the gecko' it kept us entertained for a good 3 hours. Post work I went to look at the D40 (!!!!) and then went over to JF's house to go out on his boat. After wake surfing sessions JF, JG, AK and I all went star gazing. It really was an adventure all day. Here is a pic of AH surfing. He is GOOD. And now that I have been up almost 24 hours I'm going to bed...

Crepes

SB finally got home from her mission trip in Guatemala a few days ago and I finally got to hang out with her this morning. We met up at her house and made some pretty tasty crepes. We even managed to drop an egg on the floor while doing it. How that happened, I have no idea... anyway, we had a lot of fun. And I am still full I ate so much. Here is a picture of SB taking a picture of her crepe. We thought it was funny how I caught her flash in my picture. (It was early... everything was funny).
