Bokeh of the future

#113
Registration was today! I am taking astronomy, social justice in theatre, psych, and the geology of hawaii/history of hawaii. I have class from 9-2:20. Except Thursday when I have class from 9-12:30. I can't wait. After registration I walked around campus looking for new photo spots (I found some!!) and I snapped a few pictures while I was walking around. So here is a picture of Old Main. I can't wait for school to start. Even if it is almost July. I'm still pumped. =] I then finished the day watching movies with SK and drooling over people like Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, William Moseley, and Ben Barnes. And now I am sitting at my neighbors house where I am taking care of the "ark" for the next 5 days.

Peace out all

Shopaholic

#112
Tonight I watched Confessions of a Shopaholic. Its a GREAT movie. I loved every minute of it. And Hugh Dancy is in it. You can't get much better than that. =] Anyway, a major part of that plot is "the girl in the green scarf" and that inspired this picture. Sadly I don't have a green scarf so I settled for a red (and orange) one. Funny enough my walls in my room are orange... so it became a very warm color picture. But its all good.

I go to Gustavus tomorrow to register for classes. Wish me luck!

And could I be one step closer to a new camera? Stay tuned for more updates. =]

Like a college student would...

#111
So, after working, struggling to transfer pictures from one computer to another, hitting up some grad parties, and prepping for class registration I went to a friends house for a bonfire. It was a lot of fun. Got caught up with some people. Got future hang out dates planned and decided whos buying concert tickets when and when we need to get money to those people. Sadly, I left the camera in the car... After that I came home and realized I hadn't really eaten dinner. Sure I had some fruit and stuff at the grad party, but I was hungry. So I pulled out a pack of ramen. =] I felt very college student-esque.

Look at the fireworks

#110
I got a text from a friend today saying the fireworks for Summerfest were tonight. So I ended up going to that. It was crazy busy (like it is every year) but it was a great show. I almost didn't take my camera, but I'm glad I did. I got to finally use the firework setting on my camera. I never really get a chance to, so that was kinda fun. I was happy with how some of them turned out. Like this one. Then after some friends came over and we lit off more fireworks in our yard. It was fun. It felt like a summer night. (Which is good. Since it is summer and all...)

Back to civilization

#109
Well, here I sit. Back in Tonka Town. Kinda sad to not be at the cabin anymore, but hey, I'm going back in 2 weeks so I can't really complain. Once I got home today I went to some training thing at work then went to AK's grad party. After that I went to SE's house and hung out with some friends there. After we hung there my partner in crime and I came back to my house and watched Slumdog Millionaire. I had never seen it. But it was amazing, so if you haven't seen it yet, get on that. It was nice catching up with people... but I still miss that beach.

-L

At the cabin

This week was awesome. I LOVED going to the cabin. It was quite relaxing. I finished 4 books, caught some sun, boated, all that jazz. Here are the pics!

#108
Chad had some fun tubing. There was a huge knot in the rope though so he was working on getting that out before we started.

#107
Chillin on the beach.

#106
Orange flowers covered the hill going down to the beach. I don't think I've ever seen orange flowers up at the cabin.

PRO

#105
I got my mac today. It was quite the adventure. We ended up going to Southdale because Ridgedale was sold out of the one I wanted. But I love this computer already. This picture is the only picture in my iPhoto account at the moment, and I have absolutely no music on this computer what so ever. But I will work on that all when I have more time. As for now I'm going to bed. I'm getting up early to go to the cabin. So I won't be posting till Thursday.

Till then

Day of recovery

#104
Except not really. I did get to sleep in though, which was nice. I then went to my brothers baseball game (they lost... big time). Then I did the grad party rounds. After that I came home, took a nap, got up, ate dinner, then hung out with the fam. We had a ping pong tournament, and we had some left over pre-made root beer floats. Man, we have a lot of grad party food left... and I am still exhausted. Time for bed.

-L

P.S. Happy fathers day!

Partay!

#103
Grad party today! It was a success I thought. I had a great time. Then after my party I went to JS's party, JD's party, and MT's party. After that I went over to JF's house and AH, KF, and I all went out on his boat for some water activities including wake surfing and wakeboarding. I then came home, opened my cards and gifts and chilled with the fam. It was a good day.

Luau!

#102
After working on my own grad party, I left and attended others that were going on today. I went to KF's, which was luau themed, and there we did the limbo (before it started down pouring). It was quite amusing. LW (who is doing the limbo in this picture) was quite talented at it. After spending some time at K's, I left and went to CP's. I had a TON of fun there. I talked to some friends, planned some epic movie marathons, ate amazing desserts, and went swimming. It was fun. I also went to visit DB in the hospital today, she is looking good! I'm glad everything went well for her in surgery. And now I'm off to bed... must get up early to finish prepping for my party tomorrow.

-L

p.s. I had fun with changing color in my picture again...

Cupcakes =]

#101
While nannying today the kids decided they wanted to make cupcakes. I, being an avid fan of cupcakes, agreed to the idea. So thats what we did. We had fun decorating them while watching Shrek 2. (Now all I need to do is watch Shrek and I will have seen them all in one week.) I finished off the day with work at the store and a grad party. I am the prime example of "burning the candle at both ends." Again... camera phone picture. Maybe one day I'll actually get a good picture up thats worth showing off. Maybe...

Punch

#100
After nannying and working at the store today (long work day...) I went out with CP to Punch Pizza to get some dinner. And I saw my boss there too... I just couldn't escape work, at all, all day. The pizza there is amazing, to say the least. Some of our other friends came in later to eat there and sat next to us, so it was fun talking to them cause I hadn't talked to them in a while either. After dinner CP and I went to Excel to hang out. We found our way to the outdoor development for young people (or, as people other than CP would call it, the playground) and we had fun swinging, then we just talked and caught up. It was a great... no... legen--wait for it--dary... night.

After uploading this picture I decided to play with the colors. I think I like this one better...

-L

P.S. DB, my friend in the hospital, had surgery today. Doctors said things are looking good! Yay!

Love the Madness

#99
I nannied today 520-1300. That was fun. Actually, it was really easy, we just watched movies because it RAINED (!!!) all day. So it was my first official movie day of summer. I watched Brother Bear, Shrek the Third, Bedtime Stories, Daddy Day Care, The Dutchess, and Tristan and Isolde. And a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother. I also cleaned my room. Yay. My Moosejaw (best company ever. Check them out.) flag finally came today. I had to ask for it twice... but I got it! It made my day happy. So I brought it to DN's house and we took a few pictures with it. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet. But it will come with me on photo adventures. I wanna get one of my pictures in their catalogue. =]

Off to bed... I'm nannying again tomorrow. Bright and early. WOO

party prep

#98
Lots of pictures. These are all the pictures I have in my possession. This does not include those on my computer that have never been printed (15,000 or so) or the ones my brother has or the ones my parents have. In order to prep for my grad party I had to look through all of these pictures in order to find the ones I wanted to use for my poster boards. That is what I did tonight after work. But I'm getting closer. Now all I have to do is finish the computer slide show and I'm set. =] And though it may be 8:11 right now. I'm going to bed. I have to be at my nannying job tomorrow between 5:15 and 5:20. AM. Yup...

In the Spotlight

#97
Spotlight was today. And I'm pretty sure we all had a great time. After getting downtown by 9 we watched some of rehearsal then left the Orpheum and DN my partner in crime and I walked down to the Guthrie to snap some pictures. This is one I took of PH taking a picture of DN and I. Oh what a photographer will do to get a perfect picture... Here are other highlights.

Round 2

#96
Grad parties started up again today. I attended 4 of the possible 12 or something that I was invited to. (I'm starting to get sick of them... kinda) But I had a lot of fun today. I first went to LW's then to NS's (there were SNOW CONES!) then to SK's and finally I ended up at JF's. Which is where my picture came from. Again, camera phone... But they have one of the nicest houses ever. And a great backyard for parties. Which is why I decided to show it off. So here are the festivities going down at JF's. They had a pig roast. With an entire pig. It was intense. Spotlight tomorrow. =] I'll be downtown all day. I'm pumped.

p.s. RIP Caesar. =[

Scouting

#95
I had quite the exercise filled day. I got up, went for a 10 mile walk, then went to work, then went to JW's and swam laps and treaded water for a LONG time. I feel quite fit. Anyway, while I was walking I discovered some indian trails and I decided it kinda looks like the clearing from the Twilight series. Ha. (at least, how I pictured the clearing...). But I decided it would make a great photo shoot setting, so maybe you will see another picture from here in the near future. =] Off to bed. Work and lots and lots of grad parties tomorrow.

p.s. WOO camera phones. lol.

Maple Grove

#94
After a long day's work I ventured up to Maple Grove to go to NI's house. Actually, we met up at Olive Garden (they were eating dinner there) then we adventured to Cub to get snackage for the evening, and THEN we went to NI's house. While there, we made a bonfire, then continued by just hanging out around the fire. NI and I decided to swim because he hadn't yet this year and I just wanted to. JW came with us but then decided to go back. The water was COLD, but we got used to it and actually ended up swimming across the entire lake. (Its not THAT big, but its big enough) then we got out and walked back. In our suits. That was probably colder than actually swimming. So here is a picture of the dock/lake. I don't really like it but I do what I can.

Here is a pic of NI and myself post swimming. Not an attractive pic of either of us. But hey, we just swam across a lake. What can ya do.

On the lake.

#93
I spent my first official day of summer hanging out with DH, DN, HR, SB, and my partner in crime boating around Lake Tonka. We had a great time. We all went to PH's house. Watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Then went over to the club to go out on DH's boat. We ended up beaching at Goose Island and we walked through the very small woods to a beach and had fun skipping rocks. I honestly had no idea what picture to post today. I didn't love any of them, but I had a lot of good ones that were postable. Kinda... So this is what I chose. Here is PH DH and SB skipping rocks. And now I'm going to bed... I am running on 2 hours of sleep (senior party recap: held at lifetime. SO MUCH FUN. bused back to the school for a hypnotist then home around 6. Best party ever)

I made it!

#92
Just kidding. I am posting today. =]

This is me. In my GRADUATION ROBE! How exciting is that. After 13 long but awesome years my Tonka career is ending. I started the day with grad practice at Grace Church (biggest waste of time ever...) then I came home and started getting ready for tonight. Did my hair, got dressed, etc. At the same time I was watching He's Just Not That Into You and made brownies cause I wanted some. Now that I have made them I don't really want them anymore... oops. And now I'm watching Mamma Mia. I don't really know what to do with all my time right now. I also know where our top secret location is for our all night party. It leaked around today during practice. It should be fun. I will tell more about it tomorrow.

-The Grad.

P.S. I like that my eyes match my robe today. =] It made for a sweet color accent picture.

ha, right...

#91
Well I found this sign rather ironic today. I wish I could say I won't be wasting time but I really have no time to waste right now in the first place. (Though, sometimes I wish I did). It seems every time I go to work I find another day that I'm working this month that I didn't see before. I also have a grand total of 4 hours to myself this week/weekend. If that. And then next week is when I start nannying so thats when I will be getting really busy... oh what fun summer is...

-L

p.s. graduation tomorrow =]
p.p.s. Because of graduation and all night senior party, I wont be posting tomorrow. Just a heads up.
p.p.p.s. HBD dad.

TONY's!

#90
As I type this the TONY awards are on. Neil Patrick Harris is hosting, he plays Barney in How I Met Your Mother, and is AMAZING. There are also a lot of good shows up. Billy Elliot, Next to Normal, [Title Of Show], and others. So a group of us went down to the hospital to visit DB and we all had a lot of fun. So this is RM. He was saying all night how he was nominated for a TONY and was going to be space shuttled out to NY to make the awards. So we decided to make him a nomination star. =] It was a good time.

Partay Hoppin'

#89
Today may have been one of the craziest days of my life. Lets recap. Woke up at 8 to shower and get ready for work. Worked 930-1300. Went straight from work to MM's grad party. We had crepes there. It was my first meal of the day. I was hungry. Then took LW to get her car then went straight to SK's grad party. I probably ate my body weight in desserts at her party. Stayed there for a while then left to go to EA's grad party. Chinese food. So good. Then I left to go to KN's party. I didn't eat anything there cause I was so frickin' full already. Then I left from there and went straight to Grand Slam to play lazer tag, mini golf, arcades. It was a lot of fun. I then got a tour of PH's old neighborhood. It was a lot of fun. I did miss LC's party due to Grand Slam though. I kinda feel guilty about that one. But oh well, what can ya do. Todays picture comes from SK's party. MF and EF were showing off their SK flair.

-L

p.s. One of my friends is in the hospital. She has a brain bleed in her frontal lobe. She is having surgery on Monday. Keep her in your thoughts. We would all appreciate it.

What a day

#88
Today I got up. Ran to Senior Serve (I helped teachers get through lists of stuff they needed to do before the end of the year. I got popsicles and root beer floats out of the deal =]). Then I ran back home. Then I went back up to the high school to finish scanning in some negatives of shots I took this year. Then I came back home, changed, went to work. Came home exhausted. So I rented He's Just Not That Into You (great movie) and now I'm finishing up some grad gifts for the 13 (or more) parties I was invited to tomorrow. BUSY. This is the only picture I had time for today. Its one of my favorite songs right now. And it came on the XM-Sirius radio while I was dropping my brother off somewhere. busy day.

FREEDOM!

#87
I'm officially done with high school. Weird right. I had a great day. I got 100% on my photo final. My french final was super easy. I went to adeles with my carpool people as a celebration for the (mostly) fun times we had driving to and from school. I hung out with LW and went to our bros baseball game. (I think they won? I left before the end).I took pictures in Wayzata with my partner in crime. Then we both went to a party at LW's house. He left not too long after he got there but I stayed and hung out with some seniors that I haven't seen in forever and that was a ton of fun. I missed my senior class a little bit. But we are planning more parties so life is GREAT. =] Here is a picture of my awesome french class you have heard so much about. This is the WHOLE class. Its a small one. But an awesome one.

run around

#86
I had some fun with DN and my partner in crime today. We took some shots at my house then went over to DN's house to take some more. We ended up exploring her woods and taking some decent shots. (at least in my opinion) I totally realized 5 minutes ago that I needed to post. I was about to go to bed. Overall a decent day.

-L

p.s. last day of high school ever tomorrow. WEIRD. and all it consists of is turning some pictures in and taking a french final. easy day. weird day. weird.

But I know some dece people that came through Wayzata (Yes, Em. Its your shout out) So yeah, I had my last day today. Finals tomorrow and Thursday. Senior serve friday. Then BAM graduation.
The end is near...

Senior banquet

#84
I know what you are thinking. "This doesn't look like a banquet." Well, its not. This is what I did after the banquet. I met up with JH and my partner in crime in Excel tonight to take some pictures. (maybe he will post one he took. From what I saw they turned out pretty good) It was a lot of fun. And so was the banquet. We all ate on stage "under the stars" or in front of our star curtain. Then we did senior recognition and scholarships and awards. Total I have lettered in theatre 6 times and have earned a total of $1,500 dollars in theatre scholarships from the school. I'm gonna miss theatre. A lot. Excel too. Luckily I have all summer. =]

-L

p.s. caps and gowns came today... eek!

here are some pics from the banquet
