leaky faucet

#83
I sat outside this morning to finish my book and fix the horrible tan lines on my back before graduation and parties and other things I'll be wearing a dress for. I walked outside to find a sprinkler right where I was planning on setting up my lawn chair. (Luckily there was another spot in the yard not too far away). After reading my book I decided to snap a picture of the sprinkler so I wouldn't have to worry about taking a picture later. I got soaked taking this picture. My camera got a bath too. =]

They've started

#82
Grad parties have officially started. Well, they started last weekend, but I went to my first one of the year tonight. Its kinda weird going to grad parties of people in your own grade. But I had fun tonight. I got to talk to MF who I haven't talked to in forever. This is a picture I took at MH's house (it was his party). They live on the lake and they have a paddle boat that people took turns riding out in. It was fun. Yay class of '09!

p.s. 4 more school days. 2 of which are finals. So really... 2 more school days. =] Its gettin closer.

In love and heartbroken... all in one day.

#81 (and then some)
So I went dress shopping for graduation / senior theatre banquet / graduation party tonight. While shopping for a casual dress, I looked through the formal dresses at Macy's--just for fun. And let me tell you, I have never fell in love with anything so fast. I saw this dress and basically grabbed it off the rack running to the dressing room to try it on. Even though I knew I would have no where to wear it to. But I put it on and I just didn't want to take it off. At all. I was texting DN at the time and all I could talk about was how amazing this dress is. It's my idea of a perfect dress. Its got a pattern. Its got the intensely styled back. And it has a slit up the side. Gah, I just want to re-live prom so I can switch out my other dress for this one. I LOVE it. A lot. A lot a lot. So here are some pictures of it. =]
front

back. (yay for awkward tan lines... if you can find them in this picture)

How does your garden grow?

#80
It is a GORGEOUS day out today. So after school, since I had no one to drive home, I went for a shortish drive (windows down, music loud, amazing) then I came home and ran around my yard with a camera. Our garden recently sprouted and I thought, "hmm... might make a cool picture" so I tried it. And I kinda liked how it came out. I'm off to see Phantom again tonight for my dad's birthday. Should be fun! Now back to watching Friends. (I really like not having homework, or just not doing homework)

candle light.

#79
I wrote an essay today. I LOVE it. It's amazing. Its about college costs and how kids now slave their summers away working. Its good. Then I went into the bathroom with camera, candles, and matches. I came out with no candles, pictures, and a melted tupperware bowl. (oops). So this picture is of me lighting the candles (they burned colors. It was kinda sweet. But not as cool as I thought it would be). Then I had some fun. =]

Stupid camera settings

#78
Band Concert tonight. Twas epic. And funny. Then we split to Deephaven Elementary for some photo fun. This was me messing around with the Nikon. This picture was taken at 8 seconds F2.8 (in other words. this picture was set up to let as much light in as physically possible with this camera) and then I had to bump up the exposure on the camera after I had taken it... grr... evil cameras. Oh well. Ya do what you can.

p.s. my high on life from the weekend... totally gone.

Memorial Day

#77
Another gorgeous day here in Tonka-town. I slept in, again, then went for a 10 mile walk this morning. It was amazing. The trail was so busy, and dusty. I got super tired half way through. I have no idea how I managed to do the 3-day last year. While walking I got a text saying LW's pools was open, so I picked up my pace to get to the pool faster and this is where the picture for today was taken. I kinda went off the idea I had of the beach picture. I think I liked that one better, this one has too much going on in the background so you can't really see LW jumping. But its all good. It got cloudy when we were swimming, and it got cold too. So we got out and had hot chocolate. Cause we are cool. Then I came home and took a nap. I decided I should post before I start all my homework. (Shouldn't teachers realize kids don't do homework when its nice out? Therefore we shouldn't have any when its nice out...) 8 more school days!

p.s. happy memorial day

The Perfect Day

#76
Today may have been the best day of the year. I slept in for the first time in I don't know how long. Then I just chilled around the house relaxing. Then I went out to lunch with a friend I haven't seen in forever. I went to my bro's baseball game right after that. They won. Then I came back home and washed my car. It was DIRRTTTYYYY, but now it is clean and pretty. =] THEN I watched the preview of the show Glee. Its hilarious. And amazing. And it has pretty people in it. And people who can sing pretty. You should check it out. (www.fox.com). Then I went to JL's boat and chilled for a while. Then we got a call to play frisbee in Excel so we took off running and played there for a while. Then found out a manhunt game was going on later tonight so we ran to our houses, changed, and headed back to Excel for the most epic game of manhunt ever. I had SO much fun. And I got to hang out with some people I haven't seen and people I've never even met, and they were all super cool. I even got ice cream out of the deal. =] On my way home I realized I didn't have a picture, so here is a fountain I pass almost every day driving to and or from Excel. Goodness, sometimes I just love life. It really was the perfect day. I couldn't have planned something that awesome if I tried.

Peace

Cleaning day

#75
Today was cleaning day at the cabin. A grand total of 7 of us cleaned all the logs in the cabin, vacuumed, mowed the lawn, cleaned up the yard, uncovered the boat, washed all the dishes, uncovered all the furniture, washed the dock, etc. It was a busy busy day, but it was awesome. I LOVE the cabin. I even got some "nap" time in. But that resulted in a back that looks like a tomato. And it hurts too... grr... oh well. The cabin is clean and ready for the summer season. =] I can't wait to get up there and actually put the boat in, go tubing, go swimming, and the like. Now I'm off to eat pasta and watch movies. A chance to breathe after a busy day. Here is a picture of the clean dock!! (it was still wet, hence the reflection)

10pm pancake party

#74
I once again ventured to the film fest. Once again, great movies (they were the same movies...). Then after the movies ended some people came back to my house for a pancake party. (My pancakes are famous within my group of friends). I haven't had people over in so long just because life has been so busy. So it was fun hanging out with some people that I hardly see anymore. In this picture: DH SB HR and JL prep and eat pancakes while I slave and take pictures and make said pancakes. But don't worry.. I did eat some. I think the dog got some too...

p.s. CABIN TOMORROW!! So pumped. Even if it is just opening/cleaning day.

Playing in the Surf

#73
I finally found some time to hang with JW today. We hardly ever get to hang out anymore and we basically lived together last summer. We walked around Excel before we went to the Film Fest at school. The film fest was AMAZING. Pretty sure JF will make it big someday editing and directing movies. My gosh, the kid has talent. Anyway, the picture. I didn't really spend that much time on it (its not even focused) but I really liked the idea of it so I'll probably re-shoot it one of these days. Once I put more time into it. I miss photo adventures. I'll have to go on one of those sometime in the near future.

paix

#72
Well, I had a crazy day. I spend the whole day trying to find a ride to work. And I didn't actually find a ride till half way through 6th hour, and by that time I basically just told them I was riding with them and they had no choice. Luckily they were cool about it. I love some (but not all..kidding.. not really) of my friends. So this is something new we got in at work and I thought it was sweet. And since I'm a "hippie" I thought it was fitting. I then followed up my just super awesome day with a scholarship from KK (thanks to Charlotte Powers... whoever that is). So that was good at least.

Twins?

#71
Imagine my surprise when I walked into photo today and there stood DN, wearing the EXACT same thing I was wearing. We laughed about it. Then we were told all day that we were wearing the same thing. I totally would have posted a picture from the choir concert tonight but I left my camera at home. (stupid...) The concert was awesome. The best one I've seen in a long time. And after was super fun too. There were a few of us that stayed after and we helped bring costumes back down to the black box. Then we pulled a spotlight out of storage and danced in it while trying on the occasional costume. Sometimes I love working in the Arts Center. And I still really wish I had brought a camera. Those could have been sick shots.

80 degrees and awesome

#70
It hit 80 degrees today. It was awesome. I went for a run, caught some sun, and some exercise. Then I brought the partner in crime dinner, cause he was working an event. And Cause I'm awesome like that. (right PH...) Then went home and watched the most amazing season finale of a show ever. (Gossip Girl. I'm still smiling over it). Then I drove back over to the choir concert. (This picture was taken on the way there) and watched the end of the choir concert. It was good. But I'll write more about choir tomorrow since I'm working the concert tomorrow. Overall it was a great day. No homework (or none that I did... I've gotten good at not doing my homework), warm summer like weather, and friends. Couldn't ask for anything more.

'Till tomorrow

Confirmation Day

#69
My bro-ha got confirmed today. Yay him! I put myself in position of photog for the event. It was great. The lighting in our church is horrible. All the photogs there thought so. There were also pretty cameras there. I saw a Canon EOS and a Canon 50D. I don't even know what the actual photographer had, but he had a huge lens, thats all I really saw. Anyway, I got bored and to keep myself sane (and happy) I ran around the church snapping shots of the stained glass. This is one of the ones I took. I liked the tree glass with the tree in the background. I thought it was "artistic." Or something close to that.

Picnic!

#68
I hung out with SK tonight and we decided earlier in the week that we wanted to have a picnic. Well, even though it was sunny today it was cold and windy. So we decided we would still have our picnic, we would just have it inside! It was awesome. It was complete with PB&J, chips, string cheese, watermelon, grapes, and milk. We then followed that up with a night of Crusoe (best show ever) and popcorn. =] We had a good time.

SENIORS!

#67
I FINALLY got to hang out with my awesome senior friends tonight (they are looking over my shoulder as I type this actually... and they say hi) We just started hanging out but so far we had pasta and had way too much fun on photo booth on the iMac. We are about to have Whirled Peace (the best ice cream EVER) and who knows what else we will do. Swim? Movie? We shall see.

Le Phantom de l'Opera

#65
Only 300 more days! (wow, thats a lot). Anyway, I went to Phantom tonight with my partner in crime and we had a ton of fun. We haven't hung out in ages, so it was nice to get a chance to talk and catch up. So, we rushed the show. We got there around 6 or so, waited in line for a while then got tickets. $20 a seat. And we ended up sitting 8 rows back. Not too bad. Tech wise the show was outstanding. (We decided we need fire in our theatre, fire in this case meaning pyro stuff) But I realized I'm really not a fan of opera singing...

Yesterday

#64
I went to the arts center yesterday, there was a middle school band concert going on and let me tell you, it was WAY better than the 5th grade concert. I played almost all the songs they were playing back when I was in middle school band. And they had just learned the school song which brought me back to my marching band days. I was a band geek, what can I say. Anyway this is one of the shots I took of our amazing sound board. Allen & Heath iLive 114. (I think, PH correct me if I am wrong). The board is amazing. And its pretty to look at. And it sounds amazing. I'll miss it next year down at Gustavus.

Long night...

#63
Its been a long night. Too much has happened for just one night. This is the only picture I took today, and I took it to send to my partner in crime. This is his picture that I'm hand coloring and I sent this to him to show him what it is looking like. Sorry its kinda boring. But like I said... long night.

Pencil Wars.

#62
More stories! Yay! Ok, so JS and I started this thing called Pencil Wars back during One Act. He found a pencil, gave it to me, I gave it back, he gave it back to me, and its been like that ever since. Well, he was working an event today and he got the left over flowers. So he gave most of them to his mom (since it IS mothers day) and then asked me if I wanted the last bouquet. I said I didn't care but he wanted a decision from me. 4 plus hours later we finally came to the conclusion that he would bring me the flowers. So he sent me a text that read "suprise!" so I walked out to my car and sure enough there were the flowers. And the pencil. Pretty sure that whole thing was just a plot to get the pencil back to me. But I got flowers out of the deal. So life is good!

p.s. Happy mothers day, mom!

Passing along the torch

# 61
Tonight was closing night of All Shook Up. I am officially done with high school theatre. And I'm really sad about that. It was a really fun night. I love everyone involved in the show. Including the girl in the picture. Meet J: J is a junior and basically the next me. She was the stage manager of this show and will continue to be the stage manager next year. I'm kinda passing the torch off to her, its her game next year and I believe she will work her magic and continue to make Minnetonka theatre amazing. So, to those following this who are not in high school... continue to support Tonka theatre. People like J will need you there to cheer her on. =]

Post Prom

#60
Prom was AMAZING. but not as amazing as the light set up J did for the after party. He owns a ton of light stuff and he brought it all over, set it up, and ran it while we were all in the hot tub. Oh, and the hot tub is on the ROOF. It was sweet. The picture is a little blurry but I don't really care, its still looks amazing.

It was a great night. I love getting dressed up. =]

Prom Prep

#59
I got together with some of my favorite people tonight to start prepping for prom. We all got together, did our nails (more like I did everyones nails) and we talked for forever. I haven't seen any of them in forever, so it was nice to finally catch up.

But its about 10:30. I'll be up till 5am tomorrow night so I need to get to bed... once my nails dry.

p.s. PROM yay!

p.p.s. I probably won't post tomorrow since I'll be gone all night. So expect 2 pictures on Saturday!

Charades en Francais

#58
Because it is AP week, we tend to lose about half of the kids in each of our classes. Well, my french class only has 9 people in it on a normal day. We were only missing one person today though so we had a class of 8. We were supposed to be working on our fairy tale stories that we are writing, but p2 (hour 2, the other french 4X class) got to play a game so we talked Pierre (our teacher... from France) into letting us play too. The game is charades, the french style. You get names of famous people and one minute to have your team solve as many as they can within that minute. You have to describe people in french, though by the end we all end up describing people in english. It's a lot of fun. I kinda love french class. Also, to explain the team names. I was on team AMAZ. L, who sits behind me in class, and I came up with our own verb, amazer--to amaze, even though there is an actual translation for that verb we liked ours better. and probs was the other team because we had about a 5 minute discussion on abbreviations at the start of class today and so they made their team name probs cause they were "probs" gonna win... and they did.

Au revoir

Rushing to work

#57
Funny story. Earlier today J asked me if I was interning at the arts center and I said no, cause I wasn't. Then I realized no one had written on our work calendar that they were working so I started asking the other interns who was working, no one was. So I was gonna ask if they needed someone to work, but AP testing got in the way and it just slipped my mind. J then called me around 5:45 tonight saying "hey... did you know you are actually working tonight?" So I got to rush over to the arts center to run not one but two 5th grade band concerts. They were painful. I can't believe we all thought we sounded good back when we were in 5th grade. But it was fun. I got to color since the shows required nothing of me. Then J and I had a good conversation while we were waiting for everyone to leave. I love working in the arts center. So this is a picture I took (yay camera phones) of the madness of band concerts with a bunch of 5th graders. Its kinda blown out, but I do what I can with what I have.

AP...

#56
I have my first AP test this year tomorrow. Statistics. I think I will do ok, but I'm just not sure what's gonna happen. You never know with AP tests. So, instead of studying I made cookies to try to take my mind off it. I decided that studying isn't gonna help me much now anyway. Either I know it or I don't. I'm hoping I know it. I might cry if I don't get a 3 on the test. Wish me luck.

SHOES!

#55
SHOE SHOPPING! I really don't like it. My feet are super wide so its hard to find shoes that fit and look cute. But prom is less than a week away so I NEEDED to find something to wear that had a big enough heel so I wouldn't have to get my dress hemmed. Luckily I found some! They are adorable. I love them to death. In fact, I'm wearing them right now. My feet may have to be amputated at the end of the night. But it will probably be worth it.

When ultimate goes wrong

#54
We had 2 performances of All Shook Up today so in between the shows a group of us went to Excelsior to play a few rounds of Ultimate. And it was really fun, and really windy. So, eventually the frisbee ended up in the water. Sadly, the wind wanted to push the frisbee out into the lake instead of back to shore. J decided that since it was his fault the frisbee went in the water he would be the one to go and get it. Lets just say Ice Out was a while ago now, but the water isn't warm. Overall, we had a lot of fun.

p.s. I used the new camera today, it works rather nice. I feel like a traitor using Nikon though. (I'm a canon fan)

May 1st

#53
May 1st is officially college day. All the seniors at our school wear college apparel of the school they are going to. My friend, K, has always said she would be going to St. Olaf, then looked at schools in Boston, Illinois, Michigan, etc. For a while she was planning on going to Illinois Wesleyan University, but ended up back at St. Olaf. St. Olaf and Gustavus are basically what you call rival schools (of course not as much as rivals as St. Olaf and Carlton, but thats not the point) so her and I will be "rivals" for the next four years. Again, I had fun with the self timer on this picture.
